As the body belongs to the Earth, it is situated within an ecological context and houses a microcosm of ecology within it. In this pranayama practice we work with the rising of prana and the descending of apana in consort with one another to arrive in the center of ourselves; guided by the use of ecological metaphor to anchor our mind within the context of Great Nature our body is constantly navigating. This meditation on the body as ecology serves to build a conscious relationship to the Earth that holds and nourishes us.
